Beautifully maintained Corniche Drophead with only 42,850 original miles! Superb service history that includes all new fuel injectors & seals, completely new ignition system, fully rebuilt brake system, new alternator; drive belts, new tires, and more (2017)! Sold new in Beverly Hills, CA where it spent much of its life, it continues to impress today! Beautifully crafted by Mulliner Park Ward in limited quantities each year, the Rolls Royce Corniche Drophead Coupe was the pinnacle of their model line up. With roughly 100 units produced per year, each one commanded a premium price tag and were generally special ordered specifically for their original owners.
We are very proud to offer this absolutely gorgeous 1982 Rolls Royce Corniche Drophead finished in classic Ivory IV (code 9510228) with Tan Everflex hood & Beige headliner over Tan Leather hides, this car survives spending the majority of life in Southern California! Factory appointed features include all-aluminum 6.75L V8 with Bosch injection, automatic transmission, climate-controlled HVAC system, 4-wheel power disc brakes, power steering, power seats, power windows & top, power locks, Jaeger instrumentation, and hydraulic self-leveling rear suspension!
It has been beautifully cared for and meticulously maintained from new showcasing just 42,850 actual miles from new! It was built in November 1981 and made its way to the Los Angeles port in May 1982 where it was delivered to Rolls-Royce of Beverly Hills, LTD on Wilshire Boulevard. The original owner proudly kept this stunning Rolls Royce in top form through 1985. It traded hands amongst a few additional California collectors before coming to Illinois in 2001. It sold back to Palm Springs, California in 2008 when it was located by its most recent owner.
The car was enjoyed thoroughly before commissioning a comprehensive restoration in December 2013. This led to a complete, professional repaint of the exterior paint in the original color by nationally renowned Mann’s Restorations completed in March of 2014. Erwin Schwarz LTD, British car specialist in Brentwood, MO, was selected with a mileage reading of 41,372 in June 2014 to rebuild the entire brake system including brake accumulators, valve casings, return hoses, a-rings, pipe sleeves, and mineral spirits were replaced; install a new fuel accumulator; timing rotor, spark plugs, all fuel injectors & seals; replace the triangle gasket, valve cover gaskets, torque tube, & isolators, and check tube; new fuel filter; all drive belts; both power steering hoses, along with convertible top feed lines & fluid all replaced. It returned to Schwarz LTD for a new alternator in September 2015; 1″ radial whitewall tires were installed October 2015 with 41,993 miles. And finally, the rear ride control system and brakes were completely renewed in October 2016. This included rebuilt rear brake calipers & new pads, e-Brake pads, #1 brake pump & housing, rear suspension height control valves, gas springs, priority valves, new sub frame shocks; along with the radiator flushed and replaced with Evans high performance waterless coolant at 42,797 miles.
It continues to operate just brilliantly with gorgeous interior woodwork, factory wool floor mats, leather boot cover. The original radio is included, but currently replaced for a modern digital AM/FM/USS-ready head unit in the stock location. In addition, it will come with order & delivery documentation, copy of original MSO, dealer check in form, early service records, and all recent maintenance history listed above. It drives absolutely superb and is quite possibly one the finest Corniche Dropheads available on the market today!
