LAUNCHED IN 1972 AS A FAST, LUXURIOUS AND COMPETENT CONVERTIBLE SPORTS CAR, IT WAS POSITIONED IN THE MARKET BETWEEN THE TRIUMPH AND THE JAGUAR E-TYPE.
THE JENSEN-HEALEY WAS ONE OF THE LAST EFFORTS OF THE JENSEN MOTOR COMPANY BEFORE THEIR DEMISE IN 1976, PARTLY DUE TO THE 1974 OIL CRISIS. THIS SERIES 2 CAR FEATURED A LOTUS 907 ENGINE, WHICH WAS THE FIRST ENGINE TO USE DOHC AND 16 VALVES PER CYLINDER. THE JENSEN-HEALEY WAS DESIGNED BY THE SAME PERSON WHO DESIGNED THE ASTON MARTIN LAGONDA AND WAS THE BEST SELLING JENSEN OF ALL TIME. THE 50/50 WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION OF THIS CAR MADE IT A GREAT HANDLING CAR, AND WITH ITS 144 HP, 0-60 TIME OF 8 SEC AND 119 MPH TOP SPEED, IT WAS FOR SURE A GREAT, LAST HURRAH OF THE JENSEN MOTOR COMPANY.
