The Bricklin SV1 is a car that was designed to offer unparalleled safety whilst maintaining a beautiful look. Many car companies complained about safety regulations ruining their styling but Bricklin was determined to integrate safety design. As a result the SV1 of ”Safety Vehicle 1” was born. The most promising safety design is the front bumper that can absorb impacts up to 10 MPH without any damage being obtained from said impact. Another interesting feature is the fact that these cars are not painted, but rather the acrylic panels are a solid color so that scratches can be sanded out. The SV1 is powered by a Ford 351ci Windsor V8 paired to a 3 speed automatic transmission. There were only 2,900 Built in a two year period and there are fewer than 1,500 known to exist. The unique example is mechanically sorted and received a Pneumatic door system upgrade. A great car to take to your local car show and is guaranteed to turn heads.
