Chrome Front Bumper, a Drop-down Tailgate, Fender-mounted Turn Signals, a Fold-down Windshield, Dual Side Mirrors, Manually Locking Front Hubs, and Front Disc BrakesA Costa Rican HJ45 that is presented in all of its glory, this 1979 Toyota HJ45 Landcruiser was a mountain dwelling example that was purchased with no rust, numbers matching and was restored back to a healthy Landcruiser. The Freeborn red paint with a white roof on the HJ is in excellent condition and is as clean on the underside as it is on top! The interior was recovered with fresh black leather that wraps the single seat as well as the bench seat. All of the gauges, lights, and 4WD work as they should on the Toyota and an under dash vintage air system was added to blow ice cold air in the cabin. All chrome pieces on the HJ are original and have been rechromed. The original windshield is still present in the truck, there are Costa Rican registration stickers as well as the authentic license plate number etched inside of the glass to help prevent a stolen windshield! This Toyota is equipped with power steering, front disc brakes, a manual locking front hub, and only 77,000 km on the dash (47,800 miles). Some upgrades completed by the previous owner include a new exhaust system, new KYB shocks, new battery, new seat belts, and refurbished the original dash cluster. This example is powered by a strong running 3.6-liter diesel inline-six that is mated to a four speed manual transmission. Turn the key, warm the glow plugs up, and fire the Landcruiser up without a hiccup…this HJ is a blast to drive and could easily be utilized as a truck to haul your little projects around! The 16” steel wheels are original and have been painted gray to give a nice offset to the red paint. This Toyota HJ45 is certainly an example to buy with confidence, what a cool piece of history that is now available for the next collector!
